Parents and Delinquent Children

When children who are younger than 18  and older than 10 commit a crime this is an act of juvenile delinquency. Juvenile delinquency falls under two categories. The first type of delinquent act is if he committed when he was an adult he would be charged with committing a crime . Second kind of delinquent act is being out late at night passed curfew and skipping school. A child can commit a crime for many reasons,  lack of family  relations or no family relationship at all, drug and alcohol abuse, friends that commit crimes and many others. When a child breaks the law whatever the case may be, Murder or truancy it is both the child's and parents fault.  However blame tends to lean more on parents than on the children.

Parents are usually the most important role models for the kids in their life. The views and behaviors of the parents can have an everlasting influence on their children's behavior, it being good or bad.  When there is a lack of family relations or none at all.  When children feel ignored they lash out to get the attention of their parents. Knowing what they are doing is bad but wanting them to notices them. If they don't feel loved they become insecure making it harder to make friends and the friends they do tend to make bad decisions.

Delinquency is usually the result of  inappropriate behavior at home, school or in the community.   Juvenile delinquency is often caused by peer pressure from friends or other teens. when children grow more up and become teens, they go through periods of life where their peers are more important than their parents, and siblings. teens want to fit in with there peers so by listing to them over an experienced adult they do just that. Then finding themselves in a compromising situation. this want to fit in tends to cloud people judgement. this especially true with female teens who are facing difficult challenges at home, According to Joseph A. Wickliffe  from Yale-New Haven Teachers Institute.

Crime has been around since the dawns of humankind, only in the 18th century has juvenile crime been around. Family treatment has a influence in juvenile crime. Parents that pay little to no attention to their kids are failing as parents, helping the kids become influenced by their peers and the environment they live in.  The parents that do pay attention are doing the best they can helping send a message that they are love.
