Family life makes juvenile delinquents

A parent's job in society is to not just to set an example for their kids but to be the example. As of 2016 there has been an influx of juvenile criminal activities. What kind of ethics and morals are these kids learning at home, if any? people aren't born good or bad, a person’s habits are learned primarily from family. Children who grow up in broken homes with very little parental supervision have the greatest risk of committing crimes. According to a study made by Anika Doggettof Elon University, Families play a vital role in determining whether or not a kid commits a crime or not. A strong family presence helps teach kids acceptable behavior, Respect, and strong morals. Between the ages of 6 and 14 are when kids are the most impressionable. Between 6 and 14 are the primetime to make a positive impact on a Childs mind and life.

Deborah Gorman smith, interim dean of the university of chicago and member of Chicago center for youth vilonce prevention found that children surrounded by agressive and confrontational parents lead to the children leaning towards a criminal nature. she goes onto speak about how a history of criminal behavior and harsh discipline is linked to juveniles.

Building a strong family structure and introducing children to positive influences is key to stopping delinquency. People aren't born inherently good or bad, its the people around them when they're young that shape them.

  1. While I think you have two good sources and a solid premise, I think that you are lacking a lot of content. I think there is a lot of room for expansion of the article particularly when it comes to breaking down the excellent statistics you present. You could discuss consequences of a broken family life a little more, or something of that nature.
